Collection consists primarily of two components: Galsworthy's letters to Max Meyerfeld, who translated his plays, such as The Silver Box, into German, and Galsworthy's letters to Joseph Conrad. These letters discuss what both men were writing at the time, and include Galsworthy's criticisms of the Secret Agent. The collection includes letters to other correspondents such as Edward Gosse and Richard Carle, many of them pertaining to Galsworthy's role as the first president of PEN. The collection also contains letters written by Ada Galsworthy to various correspondents.
